idk i do like sterek but a lot of the fandom disregards some key stuff about stiles AND derek’s character because fandom likes to ignore certain parts of characters and they LOVE to ignore stiles and derek’s relationships with other characters. i admit i’ve read some really great sterek fic but a lot of what is popular i just don’t really like. mama stiles for example i am just not getting on that boat at all.

sterek is nice for a lot of reasons and i’m too lazy to list them all but my favorite is that derek was probably raised with his pack and didn’t have a lot of interaction with normal people. the only normal people he must’ve had interaction with or heard a lot about were the hunters. the hunters consider werewolves inhuman and monsters but stiles is cool with it stiles is a normal human that doesn’t think of derek as a monster. to an extent they do care and respect each other

but yeah fandom gets way too carried away with headcanon

I mean I can like multiple ships but I can't be hardcore about more than one to do with the same character. :( Unfortunately for me tbh. I just cling to ships I guess. And ship for dumb reasons how? You mean take things out of context? - question by maybelledrop

awwwwww ;v; like i said, i can prefer one ship over another but again different relationships with other people are sometimes better for the person in a certain aspect like GROWTH or are maybe just more interesting in terms of their dynamic whether they’re fluffy or doomed or super intense and yeah.

shipping for dumb reasons would be like you are basically allowing headcanon to overcome actual canon. i don’t mind the whole “digging deeper” but when you decide to ship something that doesn’t really work but you WANT it to work and you completely ignore an aspect of a character esp if it’s essential, then i get annoyed.

also i usually have some issues with canon LOL esp if it’s rushed or doesn’t make much sense. i like character development but nothing gross or too out of place
